A Liverpool student has won a BAFTA Young Game Developer prize after beating thousands of other hopefuls.
Jack Mills, 17, is a year 12 student at The Studio school and was recognised for his creation of Utopia of Rhythem, an original platform game where users must tackle pitfalls and obstacles to music.
Jack developed the BAFTA award winning game during Creative Media lessons at the school which specialises in gaming, digital technology and coding.
Jack, from Wavertree, said: “The idea for Utopia and Rhythm came to me months ago and gradually grew into a fully-playable game thanks to support from my teacher, Alex Brewster , and my mentor, Ivan from Catalyst Outsourcing in Elevator Studios.
“For our latest project we received the guidelines for this BAFTA competition and were encouraged to design something totally unique, creative and interesting.”
Jack said the news came as a total shock and hoped his success will help him in his future studies at university.
